Christo Nielsen

Christo has 13 years of experience in the railroad maintenance-of-way-industry having held various positions in sales, marketing, and aftermarket service and parts.. He is in charge of sales and business development. I have thoroughly valued working in the railroad industry while at Racine Railroad Product, Nordco Inc. and RELAM. I have held various positions from Sales and Marketing to Aftermarket Service and Parts. These various roles provided me with the introduction, insight and determination to help railroads, contractors, and transit agencies acquire safer, quality-built equipment that is easier to repair and maintain. I am currently employed by RELAM Inc. and John Roberts, CEO and President of RELAM fully supports me in this opportunity. RELAM is an active REMSA member and member of AREMA, AREMA Technical Committee 27, CARS, ASLRRA and NRC. I also currently hold e-RailSafe certification. My time in the railroad MOW industry began in 2011 at Racine Railroad Products. As a member of the Racine team, my role was to understand and interpret the customers’ needs and communicate those needs to engineering, sales and service. I worked directly with Class I railroads to identify gaps in specifications in current equipment being manufactured, which led to my next position. My second position in the industry was with Nordco Inc. In my six years there, I focused on multiple aspects of the business, including sales, aftermarket parts sales and service, and marketing. During this time, I helped the company improve business operations through efficiencies in building machines and communicating changes made by other customers so that optional items become part of the standard offering. Additionally I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of MOW products and practices while serving Nordco’s car moving and rail inspection business units.

In 2020 I was recruited by the new RELAM Inc., a recent merger of RELAM and Progress Rail Equipment
Leasing to be their Director of Strategic Accounts. Within a year I was promoted to VP of Leasing over the
largest MOW fleet of rental/lease equipment in North America. In this role, I assist in solving customer issues
from the ground up by advising customers on processes and equipment for railroad related work. My ultimate
goal is to demonstrate the value of leasing equipment when machinery is under-utilized. Another focus is to
show how different equipment can increase production in smaller work windows and allows customers to not
lose sight of safety. This position has allowed me to work directly with cross-functional teams in rail related
companies of all sizes.

Throughout my time in the industry, I have continually grown myself personally and professionally. I am
dedicated to simplifying the way we conduct business while driving excellence for our customers. I welcome the
opportunity to work alongside other leaders in this industry to help grow a strong future for railroading.
